Strange how quickly the body (or is it the mind?) forgets physical sensations. It has been only 4 days or so of this wretched cold and I have forgotten what the fiery days in Singapore feel like. I read in various updates from friends that these few days have been extremely warm and humid back home. I simply can't imagine the feeling now.
And now back warm(er) and snug in my hotel room, I can convince myself that it wasn't THAT bad, and tomorrow morning, I'll still venture into the cold, chaffing my gloved hands and wondering how I could have ever forgotten that it is THAT bad.
I can sit here now, with a cup of hot tea beside me, and the thermostat turned up all the way, and relive the day's happenings, and remember with pleasure all that I have experienced of this beautiful place today. At this moment, all the beauty is worth the cold.
Tomorrow morning, with the rain in my face, and numbness in my feet, is another story.
