MACPHENOMENON

It suddenly struck me how MacDonald's has become a common unit of measurement of a country's or city's cost of living.

Discussing my Norway trip with my colleagues who had been here before, a common statement heard when comparing food costs was "A MacDonald's meal costs the equivalent of 20 SGD in Norway compared to 6 SGD in Singapore." And I realised that this statement had been uttered probably as many times as I had been abroad. Just replace Norway with intended destination.

So I am impressed. How many companies can boast of such an achievement? I am now just waiting for it to be listed as a commodity to be traded. Then MacDonald's would have REALLY arrived.
