TIMES OF THE DAY

I love waking up early in the morning, on days when there is no work, and a full day ahead, like a blank canvas waiting to be filled with brilliant colours. Morning is for movement, for energetic activities. Nothing beats a morning workout. The adrenaline high fuels me for the rest of the morning, and I get the virtuous feeling of having completed my alloted training for the day, instead of the training session hanging over my head like the Sword of Damocles.

Morning is for grocery shopping, squeezing with the housewives, for soaking in the hustle and bustle of the city. Morning is the for mad laundry rush and watching your clothes drying in the morning breeze. Morning is for house-cleaning, for getting dirty in the garden. Morning is for home and hearth.

I love afternoons on free days. Afternoons are for lazy lounging in an air conditioned cafe, jazz in your ears, coffee in hand (tea for me though), a magazine in the lap and the world passing through around me. Afternoons are short naps on the sofa, with the gentle afternoon breeze in my hair, and the muted TV in the background. Afternoons are for girly chats, shopping sprees, a relaxed hour in the bookstore, another in the salon. Afternoons are peace, zen and indulgence.

I love evenings on any day. Evenings are for gathering around the dinner table, laughter in the air. The sounds of sizzling woks and the smell of stir fry chicken. Evenings are for leisurely walks around the neighbourhood, saying hi to neighbours and listening to the birds returnin to their nests. Evenings are for family and friends. Evenings are for companionship.

I love the night every day. Nights are shrouded in mystery and allure. Nights are for wild imaginings, for deep reflections. Nights are for thinking of that special someone, for sweet nothings on the phone. Nights are for ME.

Who says I'm only a night person?

Because I have NO free day mornings and afternoons. Those on my "MC" days don't count, because...I'm MC!
